This year the Union picnic will be at Stricker’s Grove located at 11490 Hamilton Cleves Road Hamilton, Ohio 45013 on July 11, 2021. Tickets will be available beginning Monday, June 21st – Wednesday, July 7th at your Union Hall. Tickets must be picked up by the member or their spouse.
This event will be at no cost to the members and their families. Due to this being a free event, we ask that you only receive tickets for your immediate family. Each member will be allotted a maximum of six (6) tickets at no cost, any tickets needed over six (6) will be at a cost of $25 per ticket. This is a way to keep costs within the allotted budget approved by the Membership and allow everyone to benefit. This event is currently only available to active members and their families.
Entry into the park includes the following: free parking, 15 rides, 2 roller coasters, free mini-golf, horseshoes, corn-hole, shaded picnic areas, and 2 shelter houses. There will also be free popcorn, cotton candy, sno kones, ice cream, soft drinks and beer.
A free buffet will be served from 3:00 – 5:30 pm. which includes: hot dogs, brats, metts, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, baked beans, potato salad, pasta mix, and cole slaw.
Stricker’s Grove has a variety of rides and games for all ages. It features two roller coasters. The Tornado is a wooden roller coaster designed by Al Collins and built by Ralph Stricker. Ralph Stricker is the only person in the United States to build his own coaster. Construction was started in November, 1990 and completed in June, 1993. The second roller coaster is the Teddy Bear. The original Teddy Bear was located in kiddie land at Coney Island in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ralph Stricker obtained the blueprints and rebuilt the Teddy Bear at Stricker’s Grove. The park has a train, Ferris wheel, Merry Go Round, Scrambler, Tilt -A- Whirl, pirate ship, flying scooters and other rides, including kiddie cars, boats and rockets. In addition to the rides, Stricker’s Grove also has an 18 hole miniature golf, arcade with video games and skeeball, shooting gallery, horseshoes and cornhole.
